Joe Mutimer

 Name: Joe Mutimer.
Date of birth: 29th January 1974.
Training since: November 2003.
Favourite kick: Twist kick
Personal ambitions: To achieve my black belt and teach my two boys.
Favourite things: Taekwondo, knowing everything (almost).

As a younger man I dabbled in various styles of Martial Arts but regrettably never focused on any particular class.
Once I started to get older the inevitable life commitments drew me away from any form of exercise. So when my old sparring partner,
Sabon David (who had shamed me by persevering and achieving his 2nd degree black belt while I ate pies) persuaded me to return to his new club my ever increasing waistline convinced me that this was a wise move. Since then I have managed to shed some three stones from my frame and progress steadily up the kup rankings.

I hope to take my black belt in 2007 and my long term goal would be to run my own club under Sabon David’s banner in Hastings where my kids live and introduce them to a sport/discipline that I have received so much from in so short a time.

If you are thinking of joining then whatever age you are I would encourage you to give it a go, I have never regretted taking up Taekwondo (well maybe after the 61st press up) and have found improved fitness, a feeling of achievement and an increased confidence in all areas of my life.

Thank you for reading my profile.
